Observations

Robert Gentry has written "Observations" since 1957 in various forms, offering straight talk, political and personal memories, and unique insight on any number of topics. Since 1964, "Observations" has focused primarily on the happenings of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, where Gentry was owner, editor and publisher of the parish seat newspaper in Many, The Sabine Index, from 1964 until 2011.

 

Gentry is an old school news man, member of the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame, Country music historian, tree farmer, photographer and admirer of the odd and unusual. He is honored to have served as the last public relations man for the late Gov. Earl K. Long of Louisiana.
